Grandma Stash

When your stash of quilts for new grand babies runs low, what's a woman to do but replenish!?!? This lady just completed two new ones for baby girls.
Sandy adopted her niece after her sister passed away. Her niece/daughter is pregnant for the first time so Sandy made a quilt for the baby out of these fabric squares given to her by her sister. What a treasure!!

Picnic quilt

Now, this is one heavy quilt!! I think she said her daughters missionary dress is cut up and sewn into this quilt. I quilted dragonflies on it to be more picnic like!! What a fun quilt!

Kaffe Fassett

Kaffe Fasset has a very distinctive style for sure. For me, it is definitely a step out of my comfort zone, but I love it. He has such a way with colors and shapes. This is one of his patterns and I quilted it in red thread. I would definitely recommend buying the kit if you fall in love with one of his patterns.

I love the way these trees are pieced--different and super fun!
This great Halloween quilt was pieced using a layer cake. I think it turned out so fun. Unfortunately, the pattern has you sew together the squares and then cut them down to 8 1/2 inches. How buggy the designer has you waste all that fabric!! If I were to make it, I'd square up the half square triangles without sizing them down.
Regardless, I think it is a fabulous quilt!!Our quilt guild handed out a kit containing only three fabrics. I love comparing finished projects. My friend added six more fabrics, some sashing and a border and her finished project is so fun in my opinion. Now, this quilt will be a gift for grandpa!!
This quilt is the upcoming project for the 4th ward. This can be made for any season and makes a great table topper. Maybe the 9th ward ought to attempt another project!?!?

Baby Quilts

I love this geometrical baby quilt. She has done an amazing job of fussy cutting everything so it lines up and is perfectly centered. This is a gift for her first granddaughter.
This quilt is also a gift for a grandchild. This has a fun yellow minkee back and some awesome ducks on the front. Love it!!

Baby and Barn Quilt

This quilt is for a new granddaughter.
I think this is such a stunning color combination. The custom quilting makes the quilt really fun also This will be on display at the upcoming quilt show in the barn.

Debbie's Masterpiece

My sister has always loved the double wedding ring quilt and finished it during her vacation to Utah. In the end, she has this beautiful quilt, but she completed it with no small amount of frustration. Hopefully, that will all be forgotten now!! Good job Debbie!!

Black, White and Beautiful

This is a first ever quilt and is so beautiful. Something about it is so striking to me. I, of course, am a fan of twall and the black and white combination is very eye catching!!

Baby Quilts

This quilt is for a new grand baby and will have a scalloped border in the end. FYI you should mark the scallop before taking your quilt to the quilter, but WAIT to cut the scallops until after.
This grandma made two matching quilts for her great grandsons--each with their name embroidered in the middle. What a treasure!!
This cute mother-to-be designed this quilt after The Little Prince. This is her first quilt and was beautifully done!!
I love this panel. This was designed by Sharon Reynolds of Tenderberry Stitches years ago. This will be a very generous gift for a new baby of a friend.

$6 Picnic Quilt

This customer bought a $6 remnant bag from Elaine's Quilt Block and put it together with some denim she had at home to make this fabulous picnic quilt! Hooray for finding deals and for using some of what we have sitting around!!

Old pictures

Here are pictures of quilts I found from the end of 2006 and beginning of 2007. I hope you enjoy them!! Tessellating cats!!

This quilt top was a wedding present from 30 years ago or more. She had me quilt it so she could donate it to the humanitarian center. In the end, it was so fun her daughter wanted it and it never made it to the humanitarian center.
This is a buggy barn pattern and was done in the school colors as a donation for an auction. I was tempted to bid on it myself, but who can compete with the English!?!

This was made out of some scraps as a gift for a nurse friend.

I love this quilt!! I love the simplicity and sweetness of it. The little pieces of red in it really make the quilt.

A group of girlfriends from high school each make a block for each other and put them together for the first baby. What an absolute treasure. Each block shows so much about the giver.

This is some kind of pioneer pattern and I think it turned out so fun!!

I've been working on embroidering these blocks so I can make this for myself some day.
This was a Christmas gift for a sister. Each poinsettia flower has about 14 pieces layered together to form the flower. What a treasure!!

Eight-year-old quilt

This mom is giving her first ever quilt to her son on his eighth birthday. This quilt is full of fun fabrics containing pictures of things he loves best. What a treasure!! These colors are so happy and fun!

Fabulous Fabric Choice!!

People ask me all the time the key to picking out fabric. In my opinion, this quilt is a near perfect example of the goal. She has some solid fabrics which give your eyes a place to rest. She also included big bold prints and smaller prints. Her color variation is also fabulous. I believe this is also her first ever quilt. Fabulous job!!

Sisters!!

My sister from Oregon was on a mission during her vacation home to finish many quilts. Her youngest son is a huge fan of trains, so she adapted a pattern my older sister designed to make this bigger version for her son to carry around. (See March 30,2008 for the original quilt) He loves it--but, will not allow anyone to call it a "quilt."
My sister made this quilt out of scraps to figure out the yellow brick road pattern. This was the last of five quilts I quilted for her this week. She completed every project on her list!!
My friend made this great quilt for her sister as a graduation present!!
