Customer Quilts

This quilt was the product of a daytime quilting group. They set up an assembly line and made these awesome patriotic quilts.
A granddaughter found a few of these blocks made my her ailing grandmother and decided to finish the gift for her. "She never keeps anything she makes and I decided it was time she had a quilt of her own." What an amazing granddaughter!!

Customer Quilts

I didn't get this layed out on the floor very flat for the picture. I think she did such a great job of picking out the fabric. This pattern is definitely a favorite of this customer. She swears it is a real snap to put together.
This was made by a different customer and it is her second quilt ever. This is mostly made from jelly rolls. What she really needs to do is make one for herself now. So far, she has given everything away!!

Quilts for Cancer

My friend is one of the busiest people I know, but is also extremely generous with her time. She is a breast cancer survivor so when she heard about a local quilt store giving out free kits for people to sew together for cancer patients, she eagerly enlisted in the cause. She sewed together two tops and I quilted them both.

Yellow Brick Road from London

Between entertaining guests and taking care of her six kids, my friend still pumps out a ton of quilts!! Many of the guests now know that she loves fabric as a little hospitality gift. She has been frequently known to have the quilt sewn together before they leave so she can send them back to me to quilt.

Her eleven year old daughter sewed this quilt together as her first quilt. Not a bad first quilt!!

Twin Baby Quilts

A cute grandmother preparing for a new grandson, made these two matching quilts. One is for the baby expected any day and the other is for the next boy who gets to use the cute bumper pads these match. Way to be prepared!! We backed these in Brown Minkee Gelato--super cute!! The centers of these quilts have airplanes and loops all over them. These were fun to quilt!!

Very Different Baby Quilts

I love the way this baby quilt looks!! The different textures make it so fun to look at. This machine quilting pattern is one of my favorites as well!!
This baby quilt was made by a different quilter and I love it as well. I think she did a fabulous job of choosing these vibrant, fun colors. Once this is washed, it all the squares will fray and the quilt will be even more fabulous!!

Gift for Someone

I have this problem almost every time I quilt!! I find some cute fabric to make a gift and by the time I am finished I like the quilt too much to part with it. I made two of these quilts this weekend and have fabric to make at least two more. I have several weddings coming up--we'll see if they get quilts or gift certificates!!

Going Away Present

What is a grandma to do when she finds out her only grandson is moving 12 hours away?? Make him a quilt of course!! Of course, that one you saw in Pottery Barn is seeming like a better and better deal all the time, but it wouldn't say "Grandma Loves You" across the bottom AND it wouldn't have minkee on the back!!

Pleasing Daughter-in-laws

This cute friend took her two pregnant daughter-in-laws to pick out fabric for baby quilts. The styles are both very different, but both very fun.

Talented Friend

This quilt was made out of scraps from another project!! I think it turned out SO fun. This quilt was inspired by a quilt that appeared last year on the cover of American Patchwork Quilting. My friend made this quilt center out of charm packs for her daughters bed...or maybe she'll change her mind and make something else for the bed. Either way, I think it turned out really cute!!

Show Stopper

This has more piecing in it than many of my quilt tops, but no--this is just the back!! This is the incredible top!! The center blocks are all applique and the outside ones are pieced. What a completely amazing quilt!!

Inspiration

I wish I were more computer literate, but if you are really interested, you'll just have to scroll up and down, since I don't know how to make them side by side. On March 30, I posted some pictures of quilts my sister and I designed for Sharon Reynolds new line. The most frequent question people ask me is where I get my ideas. I always start with an idea from somewhere and modify the idea so it is original. The quilt above was on the cover of a magazine and caught my eye. I modified the block by making the center piece a solid square instead of a square in a square and I made two different color combinations instead of having the whole quilt scrappy. Then, I set it on point and used solid corner posts.

Yellow Brick Road

I think this pattern is a great one for putting together a great quilt quickly. I quilt quite a few of them every year. Here are a few pictures of ones I quilted last year. They can be so different!! This quilt was a gift to a man fighting stage 4 lung cancer. He lost his fight.

What a fun twist to add a little sashing!
This was such a cute cowboy line!!

Signature Quilt

This is one of my favorite quilts I have ever quilted. This was made by a Young Women's group for one of their 16-year-old girls who was found to be full of cancer. The embroidery was done by all the girls and they have signed their names and words of encouragement in the white spaces. What an incredible gift of love!! I have often wondered how the girl is doing.

Buggy Barn Flowers

What fun colors in this great throw!!

Missionary Quilt

A customer made this great quilt for her son to take on a mission!!

Block of the Month-Quilts Etc.

I did the block of the month the same year. Although it is humbling to put my quilt side by side with such and amazing one, I do think it is interesting to see how different the look can be depending on how you set them together!!
I think this is such a stunning quilt. What an incredible finished product!!

Turning Twenties

The colors in the quilt worked so well together. What a generous birthday gift for an employee!!
